Confusion to this day continues to pop up concerning the difference between the Mongols and the Mughals, whether they are separate or together. The Mongol Empire lasting 1206 to 1368 and the Mughal Empire lasting 1555 to 1857, had settings that were almost 200 years apart from each other, although in different times, I still believe they are the same. Mongol Empire was a very power hungry, ruthless civilization similar to how the Mughal Empire functioned. The Mongol Empire went all around Asia, from conquering north China, to controlling Moscow of Russia, they did what ever they could to seek power over Asia. However, Later Mongolian Empires started to be established in India, the Mughals started to take the scene. Although the Mongols and Mughals had two different leaders, they were still related to the same decedents. Both valued religion and thirsted for power. You see, I view the Mughals and the Mongols relationship similar to the relationship of the United States of America and Puerto Rico. The people of Puerto Rico and the the Mughals were just territories of the center point of the empire. Although, the Mughals have the same rights and limitations as a Mongol, unlike Puerto Rico and America. Mughal is just a name given to a Mongol that is a resident in India (Mongol in Persian). Mangool pronounced in Persian is relative to Mongol in English. Although during different time periods and founded by separate leaders, I believe that the Mughals was just part of the Mongols just given another name. The two groups had a huge impact on the out come of religion in India. One of the main goals of the Mughals was to spread Islam. The Taj Mahal, one of the greatest tourist attractions in today’s society, was as well created by these groups of people. Now it is called the “Jewel of India”.
